In this course, participants are familiarized with the School Leadership Mentor Competencies set forth by NAESP, as well as pertinent research that supports the resurgence of mentoring principals as a national trend (especially noted is Florida’s recent focus in this area). Distinctions between coaching and mentoring, as well as similarities in the two strategies, are discussed, as well as the necessary disposition for an impactful mentor to possess.
